About Teresa Barney
I've been in the insurance industry for over 20 years. I started out as a retail agent; then moved to an excess liability wholesale brokerage firm and I've worked Excess Liability as a company underwriter. Having the background from retail agent to a company underwriter I believe makes me a unique individual. Having an understanding how an agent gets their business and understanding how an underwriter reviews that account, gives me an edge in the industry. I've been with McGowan Excess & Casualty for 8 years and love every day...."living the dream" as they say. MEC has been a good fit for my skill set and allowed me grow even more as an underwriter.In my down time I volunteer my time at a local dog club to train obedience and agility to the public as well training my own 3 dogs for dog sports. 26 weekends a year I'm off playing with dogs doing different things.
