As a government affairs associate, I love serving our clients and keeping their issues at the legislative forefront. During the span of my career, I have worked on various campaigns, and was campaign manager to Kyra Harris Bolden during her Michigan state house bid. The skills I have gained while working in this field has yielded me the opportunity to start a business of my own that will help solve a problem.In 2015, I started Brown Boy Brown Girl (BBBG) for my 3 children. BBBG is a learning brand dedicated to amplifying young voices of color through storybooks and educational supplies. Our mission is to diversify the shelves with educational products. In 2020, we released our multicultural notebook collection for children of all races to use and enjoy while taking notes or doing homework. As a continuum of my work, I created Junior CEO Business Fair and Conference. Junior CEO is designed to empower children and their families by teaching them how to start, grow and sustain a viable business, through our annual conference. To further our goal of empowering children of color by showcasing positive images of brown children on products, we established Brown Boy Brown Girl Reads, a nonprofit focused on connecting communities and families with multicultural books, written by authors of color through our Reach To Read Initiative.I am a woman business professional and entrepreneur on the go with a mission of making impact.
