I manage the regional Northern Arizona-based publication Sedona Monthly Magazine. I write the bulk of each issue (including cover stories, a hiking column, restaurant and entertainment spotlights and front-of-book copy), edit copy from contributors, proof pages and manage the monthly publication. Served as interim editor of a regional luxury lifestyle magazine, So Scottsdale, from December 2021 to June 2022. I resumed this position temporarily in August of 2024. In this role, I managed a 100 plus page monthly print magazine. This included assigning and developing story ideas, writing some copy, editing stories from freelance writers and finalizing the magazine before it goes to press. -Researched and wrote features, including a band profile and an Q and A with a museum director, for the monthly magazine and its’ weekly e-newsletter-Aided in retooling and launching the publications’ new Web site by uploading content, trouble shooting issues -Wrote and edited blog posts-Proofread pages before they went to press-Wrote front-of-book features as per request of the executive and senior editors

-Coordinated with co-editor, reporters, photographers and designers to produce the features section of the daily campus newspaper with a readership of 14,000-Was responsible for all content in the features section, which consisted of at least two stories per edition and additional duties included writing headlines and cutlines-The features section included of music reviews of books, CDs, live concerts, profiles of individuals such as a student who created an iPhone app, and university projects like a car developed for blind drivers

-Fact-checked story content, sought out expert sources, assisted editors with numerous projects including: calling in, cataloging all of the clothing for the December/January issue, and organized an online financial project with more than 100 applicants-Wrote short pieces about dining etiquette, toy terror, and pets that appeared in print and online for this national magazine with a circulation of over two-million-Researched, compiled products and wrote the publication’s monthly snack column -Attended press events representing Parenting magazine

-Wrote stories on the arts and culture beat including special research studies about pandemics, art censorship in the local community and a program that taught refuges English through dance-After witnessing the Virginia Tech massacre, authored a victim profile in memory of Erin Peterson, that was published in the book Virginia Tech Remembers-Developed and wrote a special section on the Theater Departments’ past and present endeavors to highlight the move from their original building to a new location -Wrote four cover stories
