Funding was originally performed in arrears, but as interest rates began to increase, I implemented a model for forward-borrowing using three-month forwards, thereby reducing interest and liquidity risk and increasing profitability. • Handled monthly accounting and reconciliation of general ledger entries for interest expense; daily principal changes in commercial paper instruments, long-term fixed and floating debt, interest rate swaps, and cash pool movement; and interest accruals for a $2.5 billion debt portfolio in the North American region.
