My life’s work has been centered on students who are visually impaired and ensuring that their development is supported by comprehensive vision services, adapted academic materials, and paraprofessional support. My strengths as a teacher come from my genuine care for all of my students. My focus is toward my students developing a passion for reading and learning and my lessons are geared toward each individual’s interests and motivation. My relationships with parents are honest, insightful, and respectful. I constantly strive to grow as a teacher and learn new instructional practices so my students receive the highest quality of vision services within their education program.I am passionate about my career and have earned a reputation of being professional, dedicated, supportive, knowledgeable, and a leader in my field. I have a proven ability to deliver quality support to students with visual impairments, and the educational teams supporting them. I offer strengths in training and adapting academic materials in braille, tactile and large print formats, and in modifying curricula.
