A Business Studies graduate my early career was with Experian, prior to successfully completing a PGCE in Business Studies and ICT, which saw me move into the education sector working in Secondary, Higher and Further Education. Passionate about people and working with them to help develop, set and maximise their goals. I currently have two roles:Career CoachI have been a career coach since 2008, working with both individual and corporate clients from the pharmaceutical, finance, retail, construction, public, petrochemical, manufacturing and service sectors. My strengths include building strong, collaborative relationships, to meet individual needs.I deliver a range of workshops, developing material to ensure learning objectives are addressed appropriately including:• Effective Networking with social media e.g. Linked In• Campaign management for those experiencing career transition.• Transitioning into teaching and the Education sector.• CV Development and Interview skills• Job Market InsightLecturer in Business StudiesI have held my post within the Open University School of Business and Law since 2008. I love working with my students, seeing them grow in confidence and achieve their objectives. I work with my students in a blended learning environment running day schools, online learning (including e-forums and video conferencing sessions) as well as telephone tutoring. I build their skills, assess current knowledge and set SMART targets to ensure student’s progress successfully through their chosen modules, and are prepared for the future. I have experience of planning, creating and delivering to academic targets that can be scheduled over a period of several years.As part of this role I teach courses covering HRM, Accounting and Finance, Marketing and Globalisation.I enjoy keeping my skills up to date and am currently part way through a Masters.
