Principal Duties:Marketing and Communications• Manage the Communications budget• Develop and implement a strategic Communications plan• Manage public/media relations, cultivating relations with local media• Oversee the production of all school publications, including the Elmwood Emblem, the Report to the Community, school directory, student handbook, course calendar, event invitations, and programs• Manage the School brand across all electronic and paper communications as well as develop marketing messaging• Oversee the management of the Elmwood website, as well as Elmwood’s social media presence• Identify and work with writers, designers, printers and other suppliers and set and enforce deadlines for content, design, production and distribution• Assist with communications from the Headmistress (weekly message, correspondence with stakeholders, speeches) as well as other members of the leadership team and Board of Governors (as requested)• Assist with marketing Elmwood School Camps for GirlsAlumni Relations• Oversee the work of the External Relations coordinator on the Centennial Alumni Engagement Roadmap• Oversee Alumni eventsLeadership• Chair Uniform Committee• Member of the Development Committee• Participate in strategic planning process• Collaborate with and support Admissions and Advancement departments• Manage and mentor Communications department team members

Responsible for the development and creative execution of advertising, branding and collateral projects for both consumer and business-to-business sector clients, including Rideau Centre, Ottawa Tourism, CHEO Foundation and Canada Post. Consistently delivered strategically focused communications, throughout all media, efficiently and on schedule. Managed all broadcast (television and radio), video and photography projects from pre-production through to completion—including talent and supplier selection, location scouting, scheduling, budget and post-production.Highlighted projects: • Developed and executed national PSA creative for Canada Post’s Write to Santa campaign, Softball Canada and The Society of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists of Canada.• Editor/writer for Ottawa Tourism’s Travel Trade publication Tour Times and the University of Ottawa’s EMBA Program brochure. • Planned and managed multi-day, multi-location photography projects for Ottawa Tourism and the Ontario Tourism Marketing Partnership, Tartan Homes, Rideau Centre and Hydro Ottawa.

Created award-winning advertising campaigns for local and national clients including Elections Canada, JDS Uniphase and Brightwater Fly-fishing.

Developed print, radio and television creative for large, multinational clients such as Ford/Lincoln, Kraft Foods, Colgate-Palmolive, Sears and Ericsson
