IT leader - Manage 60 developers across various technologies. Responsible for project allocation, performance management and career development to meet organisational needs. Recruit and place developers (perm and contracting) to alleviate capacity or skill shortages. Responsible for vendor relationship.

Responsible for converting Architectural roadmap into conceptual designs for various Liberty business units and then presenting the designs to various Design Authorities and Architectural Councils for approval. Ensure that the detailed designs done by developers comply with conceptual design and consult to the project team during execution. Provide technical guidance in proof of concept of new software.

Responsible for interfaces between packaged application, Compass, and various Liberty and external systems. Interface categories included: Financials (Collections and Payments and General Ledger); New Business and Servicing interfaces via a requirements handling system; Contract values; Communication system and Data warehouse.The team consisted of 22 people divided into 5 functional teams with a team leader per team. Each team had to ensure that production support, enhancements and projects received the required attention. A highlight was the conversion of the legacy systems onto Compass. The Annuity book was done 2007 and the Conventional book in 2008. To achieve this, the team grew from 25 people to 38 using contractors from 2 Indian outsource companies. Understanding of Compass and of interfacing Liberty systems was needed.
