This role involved managing a broad range of community events and cultural programming for the Gladstone Regional Council, and engaging with the community to increase patronage to the Gladstone Entertainment Convention Centre. Responsibilities included curating and buying touring theatre shows with engagement elements and hosting these programs from contacts to on-the-floor. Creating from scratch, start up community initiatives including Farmers Market and 2017 Children's Festival - including major sponsorship acquasition, budgeting, marketing and all the rest! I also headed up as Co-Producer (Project Lead) the 2017 Community Musical - Chitty Chitty Bang Bang; Gladstone Queensland Music Festival Program and Concert; The 2017 arts season and community engagement. The role was responsible for Managing & Reporting on Budgets, Marketing / PR opportunities, Media Spokesperson Delegation, Internal Process and Policies, Council Reporting, Securing Funding, Managing a team across a variety of projects... and just wearing a new hat every day!

A highlight working for this Council included achieving a Government Communication Australia Award: Best Communication and Engagement for Rural/Shire Council 2015. This project was for managing community cooperation and communication, media and stakeholder relations for flying fox migrations across the region during 2013 to 2015. Over 18 months effective communication helped reduce costs for Council by improving community behavour and understanding, which improved the speed and effectiveness of planned dispersal. Presenter Local Government Association of Queensland Media and Communications Conference 2015Major work was delivered for rebranding and profiling Isaac Regional Council Libraries - now Isaac Libraries, to attract considerable funding from government and industry. This aimed to improve capacity of the library to improve childhood literacy and digital literacy in rural communities. During this role, I assisted with securing budgets to improve the profile of the Council including five television adverts, all of which were partnered by the media company to lower rates for clients, to help Council achieve it's aims for particular projects. A high proportion of media was delivered and managed during this role particularly around resources industry downturn, flying foxes and major events and programs. Blood and Organ Donor Strategy SectionThe role of this section is to implement key recommendations from the National Clinical Taskforce Report on Organ and Tissue Donation 2008, to raise community awareness of organ and tissue donation in Australia. The role included assisting in the development of the national communications strategy and charter for the organ and tissue sector as well as administering funding proposals for community awareness raising, and coordinating stakeholder relations with jurisdictions and NGOs.

The Department of Health and Ageing Graduate Development Program is a highly competitive entry level program which steers tertiary graduates through three four-month rotations in the Department. 1) General Practice Education and Training Registrar Initiatives Section (Workforce). Tasks included assisting on national contracts, conducting business reviews, stakeholder-government working groups, and on-the-ground stakeholder liaison.2) Blood and Organ Policy and Program Support Section. This is a highly technical area dealing primarily with Australia's Blood supply and regulation. I assisted on many high-level inquiries, regulatory and legal issues, and business cases. I was awarded a job back in this same area of work after I had completed the graduate program.3) Applied Research Unit (Portfolio Strategies Area). I developed a key digital research tool and conducted many pre-election studies on opposition policy papers.
