As a Parent Peer Specialist, it is my goal to aid families of children experiencing social, emotional, behavioral and mental health challenges in forming support systems in which they can share problems, exchange ideas and receive information. To advocate for comprehensive, coordinated, community-based, family-centered services for children and youth. To exchange information on medical and research findings, available social services, education, legal, and public policy issues. To foster a collaborative working relationship between parents and the professionals working with children and families, and to increase awareness of our children's special challenges and needs.As the Attendance-Student and Family Support Paraprofessional at Pulaski Community Middle School, I am dedicated to working collaboratively with our staff by implementing and building positive relationships with students and making PCMS a safe, inclusive and positive culture. To use collaborative problem solving to address lagging skills and unsolved problems under the framework of Trauma Informed Care and Trauma Sensitive Schools. As the Pulaski Community School District Parent Liaison it is my goal to link families to our district schools and empower families to become active participants in their child's education.
