• Design, develop and implement Cognos Framework Manager and Transformer models for Cognos BI reporting environment. o Work with Business Analysts, Application Developers, Solution Architects, and Database Developers in analyzing business requirements and specifications and translating those requirements into Reporting design • Develop complex Cognos reports and dashboards with an emphasis on accuracy and timely delivery. o Work with users from a variety of business areas in identifying and developing reports. Heavy emphasis placed on delivering results, working well across business and technical teams, leveraging agile methodologies, and enabling innovative solutions.o Implement MSU branding for all reports, charts and dashboards. o Understand the project management process and can complete SDLC documentation.o Collaborate with the Database Administrator and Cognos Administrator to assist in the verification and validation of reports and data.o Self-manage and multi task consistently.o Write efficient SQL and store procedures against database tables on various platforms for data validation. Profile and analyze data during the Report development. o Create centralized reporting solutions that works on multiple project requests o Utilize best practices when creating new packages. • Lead the architecture, implementation, and standardized usage of the University’s Operational Data Store (ODS) and Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW).• Lead the planning and scheduling of application upgrades and fixes, and in conjunction with IT, develop implementation schedules and procedures. Create project plans and monitor progress. Lead technical and functional teams during implementation.• Perform administration, maintenance and configuration changes to existing applications where appropriate and be willing to support mission critical 24x7 applications.• Document detailed functional and technical specifications where needed.• Develop and optimize centralized and cross-functional data models to support various business processes used throughout the University.• Integrate data appropriate for the ODS and EDW using ETL processes, data marts and stored procedures. Develop techniques to cleanse, transform, aggregate, and summarize data as needed.• Create or contribute to an information library or similar format which promotes sharing of information with analysts/users through the user community.• Serve as a contributing member of the University’s business intelligence team.

Create reports for forecasting, strategic planning, and budgeting using Cognos (8.3 and ReportNet). Analyze data using SQL Server (10+ years), Oracle (2 years), Access, and Excel.

Maintained and reported against the alumni database (Millenium). Created stored procedures and views in SQL Server.

Created and maintained ASP 3.0/.NET, VB 6.0/.NET and SQL Server 2000 applications. Used Crystal, XML and XLST to create operational Reports.
