I am a research-oriented chemist with passionate to work for a more sustainable future by innovating solutions using renewable products or ingredients from biomass, industry side-streams or waste. Currently product safety and biobased food packages fill my workdays. I am convinced that recyclable packages made from renewable materials are the future instead of plastic ones. However, I see that the safety is always the most important and new available information is having impact which chemicals can be used when manufacturing carton board for food packages. In my role at Stora Enso I have learned lot new but also had good opportunity to utilise my previous knowledge and experience with various stakeholders, for example how to tell to salesperson why all their wishes are not possible due to safety aspect. Previously I worked at pharmaceutical industry, where one of my main tasks was planning and organizing both internal and external analytical work related to drug development projects. I am experienced in establishing networks both internally and externally and I had good long-term relationship to external service laboratories. I have gained hands-on experience from laboratory work from Orion's bioanalytical laboratory and also during my doctoral thesis of food chemistry at University of Helsinki and master thesis in biorefinery program at LUT. Both thesis have shown my capability to lead my own work, write scientific text and make conclusions from the results. I am excellent in building knowledge of research topics by reviewing existing scientific information and finding out what kind of investigations are needed to fill the gap in knowledge. I am keen to follow development of my focus area globally and identifying new, relevant and valuable information is one of the characteristics of me. I am having analytical problem-solving skills with active solution seeking mindset. I believe strongly in cooperation when success stories are written.
