Management of day to day operations for the firm, including human resources, supervision and support of litigation and pre-litigation teams, creation and implementation of processes and practices to boost the efficiency and effectiveness of the firm, and collaboration with the team on ways our firm can grow and improve.

My primary responsibility is to assist attorneys in all phases of the litigation process. This includes drafting Complaints, effecting service of process, drafting and responding to discovery, preparing and filing miscellaneous documents with the court (i.e. Proofs of Service, Motions, Oppositions, Subpoenas, etc.). Because I work for our primary litigator, I am responsible for all Trial work, including all pre-Trial documents (briefs, exhibit and witness lists, trial binders, jury instructions, pre-Trial Motions, trial subpoenas, etc.). I coordinate the gathering and organization of medical records and/or loss of earnings documentation. I prepare Expert Witness Designations, and coordinate with both retained and non-retained experts. I prepare Notices of Intent for all arbitrations. Upon resolution of a case, I am responsible for the settlement breakdowns. I confirm all case costs have been accounted for, contact the medical providers and insurers to confirm outstanding balances, and negotiate reductions, when necessary. I prepare and file all settlement documents. If the claim involves a minor, I prepare the Petition and Orders for the Minor’s Compromise, and coordinate with the annuity company, if necessary. If the claim involves a MediCare or Medi-Cal beneficiary, I often work with a MediCare Set Aside (MSA) facilitator and/or coordinate a Special Needs Trust. I am also responsible for the Statute of Limitations calendars maintained by the firm.
