Traveling has the power and the ability to help you discover what you want out of life through soul-searching, new cultural understanding, shifts in perspective, expanding your mind and your comfort zone, personal challenges, improved mental and overall health, and personal growth.Everyone travels for a reason or a purpose but not everyone is aware of what that is. The reason that understanding why you want to travel is so important is because otherwise you'll be missing a great opportunity to maximize on your travels. If you travel because you just want to get away but haven't explored what you're trying to get away from, it will still be there when you return. If you're choosing to travel to get away from a job that you're unhappy in and you don't use the time during your travels to figure out how to improve your happiness in your current job or what your ideal job would look like, you're doing yourself a big disservice. If you want to travel because you're trying to run from or avoid something in your life or you're running from your feelings and you don't acknowledge this, you'll return from your trip possibly in the same emotional place as when you left because you didn't use what you were learning and experiencing during your travels to change your mindset and find the answers that you're seeking.
