I remotely serve as the custodian of the Society funds, online financial accounts, and legal tax documents, providing analysis and recommendations to the President and the Board regarding financial interest of the organization. I prepare monthly and annual fiscal reporting, budget preparations, and expenditure projections. My work also involved establishing data collection and digital financial tracking and reporting systems, banking systems, payment processing and reporting, and automated payment scheduling.  Established a cloud-based system for setting up all financials from an all paper process, leading to increased ease of accessing financials for all officers with individual user accounts. I was an integral participant in increasing membership by 56% in 2017. At present time, we are surpassing that number, doubling membership from 2017. A significant contribution was the coordination of two successful annual fundraising events, including having media coverage for the first time, doubling attendance, and maintaining an active Facebook page.

My work involved serving as a management consultant to intra/interagency staff on federal funds management. I analyzed problems and developed solutions for the various federal titles. The bulk of my time was spent preparing, reviewing, and finalizing program activity code requests, editing tables, cost allocation factors, and other data required for budgets and expenditures processing to meet state and federal reporting requirements.Key Contributions: I identified and assisted in solving problems impacting budgetary control (staff ceilings, budget authority, method of finance (budget and expenditure), cash balances, match rate changes, and budget limits on items such as travel, cost pools, and capital.  My involvement also included preparing, reviewing, analyzing, monitoring and reporting the impact of inter-agency contracts for budget staff, gathering information required for quarterly billings, and resolving billing/collection problems. I was selected to be the DADS representative on the Emergency Operations Team due to CERT/NIMS certifications and experience.

My responsibilities involved guidance, direction, and strategic planning of 450+ active volunteers of Community Emergency Response Team (CERT). My responsibilities include providing direction, tracking events, conducting meetings, and developing extensive training programs for new volunteers. I am trained to respond with aid to communities in times of large scale disasters and assist First Responders in the event of local, smaller scale emergencies.

I managed all accounting functions, including reporting to Board of Directors. I ensured all monthly, quarterly, and annual reports were generated accurately and submitted on time. My additional responsibilities included managing federal contracts, coordinating agreements with vendors and suppliers, and administering contracting standards and processes ensuring compliance with policies and procedures while finalizing contracts for execution.Key Contributions: I initiated the development of an emergency plan for people with disabilities in the workplace after 9/11, where one had not previously existed. In preparation for the event of a disaster or catastrophic event, I implemented and monitored continuity planning for the organization’s systems and services. Identified organizational problems and designed effective and efficient interventions, determining and elevating system-level issues. Developed and implemented organization-wide strategies for talent acquisition and selection of office and field staff exceeding 200.  I overhauled the recruitment and employment process to reduce costs and enhance quality of hires. Served on National Technology Roundtable Team and guided affiliates nationwide in technology and hardware/software issues, overseeing LAN and telephone system administration. Moved the agency from an extra-hazardous employer with Worker’s Compensation rates of $100K per year down to 0 accidents and insurance rates of less than $42K, saving $52K per year in costs by instituting a safety program.
