I executed all functions related to the financial operations of this non-profit institution. I performed all weekly, monthly and quarterly Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable functions. I maintained the contributions database. I conducted payroll functions, including quarterly and annual state and federal tax filings. I maintained and reconciled the general ledger using Quickbooks and reconciled the bank account. I prepared weekly cash flow reports and annual financial reports.

I was hired for this temporary position to assist in the planning and execution of the annual Holiday Shop. The Holiday Shop served approximately 400 program residents and alumni. I solicited and coordinated the donation of over 2,000 items. I helped coordinate approximately 385 volunteers for the event. I composed letters to donor and volunteers, reaching over 700 constituents. I communicated event procedures and event details through documents to staff. I responded to inquiries and disseminated information through emails and phone calls. I created marketing materials to promote the event. On the day of the Holiday Shop, I oversaw the event and coordinated the flow of people including volunteers, staff, residents and alumni. I provided follow-up after the event with letters to donors and volunteers, and documented the procedures for next year.

I took a step back from managing in order to work part time. I was responsible for the natural gas marketing, pipeline, plant and storage accounting functions. I accounted for and reconciled pipeline imbalances and cash outs. I prepared general ledger entries. I tracked and cleared prior period adjustments.

I managed a team of employees responsible for natural gas pipeline and marketing accounting. I consolidated the general ledger functions from the corporate office in Midland, TX to the Denver office. I improved the communication and increased the interaction among the Accounting, Transportation and Marketing departments. I created and implemented procedures to balance the monthly volumes by pipe and contract, and reconciled all imbalances. I tracked and balanced the monthly gas storage volumes.

I was hired in 1992 as a Revenue Accountant. In 1995 I was promoted to Lead Accountant, and in 1996 I was promoted to Senior Marketing Accountant. Later in 1996 I was promoted to Marketing Accounting Supervisor. I was responsible for the hiring, training, promoting and performance appraisals for a team of up to seven marketing and senior accountants. I reviewed the staff accountants' work and developed the staff's organizational and time management skills. I approved purchase, cash out, and transportation payments. I participated in the design and testing of a new residue billing system. I was an effective liason among the Marketing, Gas Control, and Financial Accounting departments.
