I started my career as a computer programmer, as I’ve been writing software since I was 9 years old. I was an owner and partner of a technology company for many years, and I’ve held many titles in my career, including lead developer, CTO and CIO. I made the transition to a legal career in efforts to help clear up some of the ambiguities often found when technology meets the law. I thrive on helping new companies understand how technology will strengthen their business, while assuring that they keep an eye on any legal issues that may arise while doing so. I fight diligently against the extortionist tactics often used by copyright and trademark trolls, and I make sure my client’s own intellectual property efforts are protected from abuse.I believe in working together to come to an amicable resolution when a conflict arises, yet I won’t hesitate to apply the full force of the law when necessary. I was the lead developer responsible for developing, servicing and monitoring over 400 web sites and web-based applications.I personally developed over 400 web sites and web-based applications spanning a variety of industries including retail, real estate and publishing. My duties included developing customized Content Management Systems, developing front end applications, developing database structures, search engine optimization, server migration, DNS management, benchmark-testing and various other tasks associated with web development. I directly managed a team of 4 programmers and a server farm consisting of 16 servers (both Windows and Linux). I dealt directly with clients on their goals, performance issues and expansion plans, while ensuring that scope management remain the top priority. Some of my other daily tasks included bookkeeping, contract and legal document preparation, HR management and general technical upkeep (office servers, printers, computers, etc).
