As an Air Transportation Journeyman, I am required to work 3 primary areas Passenger/Baggage Handler, Ramp Operator, and Cargo Technician, I am required to safely lift, load, unload, and transport baggage, pallets, and cargo to and from aircraft. In addition, it is important to safeguard cargo, baggage and pallets from damage, loss, and weather. Additional duties include safely driving and operating ground equipment such as 10k forklifts, 25k forklifts, various trucks, and pallet jacks in areas of congestion. Air Transportation Journeyman are required to safely operate sophisticated machinery, work comfortably in extremely loud environments and work in heightened situations. Tasks require reading and inputting data on computers and operate baggage scanners as well as keeping record documentation to ensure all correct passengers, baggage and cargo are routed correctly to the passenger's destination. Repeatedly lifting and loading baggage onto carts and ensuring each bag reaches its destination. Practice and advocate engaging in safety-conscious behaviors and being constantly alert in an always changing work environment during all activities.

Performs appropriate computer functions and provides documentation to ensure that maintenance records, parts tracking and costs may be accurately recorded. Adheres to all Discount Tire Co. policies and standards.
