Maintaining important relationships with artists, record labels and other music industry professionals is a key part of my role at one of Canada's most influential Country Radio stations. I manage and interpret our weekly and semi-annual research to aid the music team in making decisions about our playlist. I advise the music team on suggested song additions at weekly meetings based on research, knowledge of our audience and my experience in the industry. My weekly blog posts inform listeners and industry of our decisions and how we came to them, as well as my thoughts on controversies and challenges Country Music faces from time to time. In addition, I also use Music Master to schedule music on a weekly basis.

I help feed hungry babies. It is the work I do that I am most passionate about. Since taking on this position in 2012 I have been able to more than triple the annual cash donations, from $86,000 to $264,000 with the help of some super amazing humans that are almost as passionate about this cause as I am. From concerts to golf tournaments and family carnivals, the strategy I believe in is giving first, asking second. Give people a personal reason to give that has less to do with tugging on their heart strings and more to do with engaging their interests and senses. Have fun. Do good. Change the world.

You guessed it, my job was to 'find the fun'! I coordinated with clients to appear at and promote their events in the JRfm Funfinder vehicle. I engaged with listeners and attendees at all events I appeared at through giveaways and discussion. I managed and scheduled the street team of 10 to 15 members. I attended weekly Promotions Meetings and followed up by writing Community and Client based proposals of support. I updated the JRfm website weekly with events and photos, as well as client information, images and links, as necessary. I delivered promotional materials, banners, etc to client events and ensured their safe return to the radio station post event. I attended and emceed concerts. I delivered prizes to winners who could not pick up. I went the 'extra mile' to ensure that everyone who came in contact with me as the representative of JRfm walked away feeling great about that interaction and JRfm.

I was the face that met every single person who walked into JRfm and 600AM studios for 18 months. I answered phones, and many, many questions. I welcomed prize winners and made sure they got what they needed from the station. I also wrote a little copy and helped create both Sales and Promotions presentations.
