The Columbia University Diabetes Research Center provides research support for investigators pursuing research on diabetes and metabolic disorders. The DRC provides a central support structure to foster collaboration among investigators working in the areas of diabetes, immunology, transplantation, obesity and arteriosclerosis/lipid research and supports their activities by providing shared core resources, funding for pilot/feasibility studies and a common intellectual environment. In addition, the DRC provides for financial support through the pilot/feasibility program. More importantly, the DRC is committed to supporting all members through program enrichment activities and scientific interactions to foster a collegial approach to diabetes research.

The Center for Bioethics provides an inter-disciplinary, inter-professional forum to advance both public understanding and scholarly work on contemporary issues in Bioethics. The Center explores these issues by providing education, promoting research, and offering service to diverse communities. Our goal is to establish broad, comprehensive, and systematic educational programs to address current and emerging bioethical issues. We present seminars, courses, and conferences, develop distance-learning curricula, and partner with other Schools and Centers such as the Columbia University Law School, the Mailman School of Public Health, and The Hastings Center.
