I am part of a small, dynamic team that is responsible for all of the payroll functions and compliance for over 550 employees utilizing a 3rd party payroll service, Paycom.We process semimonthly payrolls over $1M each. We prepare special run payroll batches, adjustment and manual check processing, large batch bonuses, and bulk retroactive pay increases. I have led our agency by developing payroll-related training strategies and communications for our leadership teams and all employees, as well as internally for our payroll team.With continued process improvements, I streamlined our payroll operations and developed systems for managing our evolving workload. Tools include using Teams, SharePoint, Excel, Outlook, and creating a master desk manual. Our team became completely paperless though my redesign of our processes utilizing Adobe Pro and PandaDoc signature software.Overseeing our quarterly tax filings and compliance review in partnership with our 3rd party vendor, Paycom, has been one of my many roles.I have managed the review and preparation of our agency W-2's and corrections for the past two years, guiding a team of staff in collaboration with HR, Benefits and Finance.I have been auditing the work product of my teammates and assisting with error correction strategies, taking steps to be proactive through continued review and update of our processes.By gathering team feedback, I created all our current processes and forms for due diligence on unclaimed property, voided checks, manual checks, batch processing, backwards planning for payroll deadlines, processing checklists, and communications. I am actively involved in the oversight, development, and improvement of our HRIS. I had several roles and promotions during my 10+ years with the district. As a Data Specialist for Human Resources from Feb. 2021-Oct. 2022, I worked on special projects that included key initiatives around COVID response, bargaining and labor relations, benefits, FFCRA, data analysis, and district policies and procedures.As an Administrative Secretary for Business and Financial Services from 2017-2021, my primary role was working with our payroll team in generating monthly payrolls and manual checks for nearly 7000 employees. It included two collective bargaining groups (Classified and Licensed), along with Confidential and Administrative employees. We used Frontline and Munis, along with SharePoint, DocuSign, and other MS Office tools. As a Senior Secretary in Federal Programs in the English Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) and Bilingual program from 2015-17, I supported the district with federal grant budgeting and program expenditures, review and reconciliation, payroll processing, time and effort reporting, and by leading in our Title III audit. As Community School Outreach Coordinator (CSOC) at Grant Community School from 2012-15, I provided resource assistance and wrap around services in care of our students. I managed a large body of parent and community volunteers, and I coordinated extra curricular activities, fundraisers, and family engagement events. I leveraged community resources, garnered donations, partnered with the neighborhood association and local businesses/non-profits, and wrote grants.

I managed the activities, staff, and volunteers for before/after school programming for Grant Community School, along with district-wide summer camps held at Grant. I supervised 25 staff, more than 50 volunteers, and averaged 125 students per day. During the school year, we operated 3 hours per day during out-of-school time. During the summer, we operated 11 hours per day. I oversaw all aspects of programming, curriculum, staffing, scheduling, coordinating students and attendance, meal times with CACFP, snacks, first aid, budgeting, and supplies. I designed all of our staff development materials, and did all our program's recruitment, interviews, hiring, onboarding, staff evaluations, and discipline when necessary.I implemented programming for middle school and highschool student volunteers and staff (at the appropriate age and with district background checks) to develop leadership skills and participate in the program as tutors, mentors, and classroom assistants.As a recipient of federal funds, I managed all our site's federal reporting and auditing, with a keen eye on our program deliverables and stewardship of funds. I developed class structures with no more than 15 students per group, dividing student time into 45 minute or 1 hour blocks so students could do several activities in a day. I created and/or approved teacher-designed elementary age-appropriate curriculum in alignment with district standards and in collaboration with Grant's leadership team to help with student improvement. The curriculum ranged from STEM, Chess, Study Hall with Tutoring, Arts and Crafts, Music (varied instrument instruction), Theater, Cooking, Gardening, a variety of indoor and outdoor sports and more.I am still so grateful for my incredible team, and am so proud of their own professional achievements since our time at Grant. Without their leadership and enthusiasm, none of our enrichment would have been as deep and meaningful as it was for our students!

Zimmerman Community Center improves the quality of life in Portland by offering fun, affordable activities and space in an inviting environment for all. It was my honor to create and implement the development strategy and materials for donor cultivation, business partnerships, special events, and grants. I was proud to work with the Board and Executive Director in generating community partnerships to provide opportunities for the Pearl District.I was also responsible for communications and public relations strategies, design, and implementation.

Lead in the coordination of a charity event that hosts over 2000 teens annually at the Willamette Valley's largest high school dance. I managed all logistics, including budget, audio and visual presentation, marketing, vendor relations, security, volunteers, and sales. Simultaneously, I organized a committee of high school teens for months each year to provide leadership development by teaching them to make and negotiate decisions as a team, create decorations and marketing materials, and conduct promotional sales.

Over several years, I grew my fundraising capacity at this organization. I managed and assisted with several different types of fundraising events at all levels - including walk-a-thons, dinners, luncheons, silent auctions, conferences, dances, etc.I managed and produced communications and marketing materials. I also used web-based communications to update social networking pages and websites both in plain text and HTML. Further, I designed and sent web-based email communication newsletters and appeals.I worked with a team in the creation and implementation of a revamped development strategy. I generated donor, marketing, and sponsorship materials with this team from the ground up. This included meeting with potential sponsors and cultivating donors. In addition, I wrote and co-wrote several grants that were funded, including a state grant, city grants, and many local foundation grants.

I was the Student Body President (known as Executive Team Coordinator) from 2005-2006 and the Student Council Coordinator from 2004-2005. I supervised a team of 5 student employees and a council of 25 student volunteers in the creation, development, and implementation of a new student representation (government) program at Chemeketa that became known as Associated Students of Chemeketa. I co-wrote the constitution, dynamically recruiting diverse representation of a 50,000 member student body across multiple cities and programs.I was also an Honor Society Officer in multiple positions in Phi Theta Kappa from 2003-2006.For my service I earned two leadership awards - President's Award (I was the second ever to receive this) and the Student Representation Team Award. Both were for my leadership and dedicated service to improving student representation at our college -- every student counts.
