Responsible for leading and overseeing the overall execution and efficacy of the “Internal Focus” component of Tompkins County’s Energy Strategy and the pursuit of a financially sound path to net-zero emissions in County operations.

Managed NYSERDA's Clean Energy Communities Program in New York State's Southern Tier Region and oversaw the RenewableNY grant for Cooperative Extension. As a Clean Energy Communities Coordinator, I served as an energy advisor for municipalities across several counties, assisting them in becoming state-designated "Clean Energy Communities" through a series of high-impact actions. These included policies and actions that increased the adoption of renewables and encouraged local governments to become more energy efficient. In addition to working directly with municipal governments, I was responsible for overseeing over one million dollars in NYSERDA funding across two grants at Cornell Cooperative Extension and overseeing three staff members and several interns.

Establishing relationships and working with community leaders in institutions of higher learning, government agencies, and the business sector to identify barriers to the adoption of solar photovoltaic and identify and propose solutions. Together with community groups and issue leaders, we develop and deliver engaging, educational programs to residents and commercial businesses to demonstrate what solar is, and how it can help in their daily lives.

Identified and pursued opportunities to integrate the development of a new State Park with the town of Springfield by creating partnerships between the State of Vermont and local organizations and businesses. Responsible for developing the framework, creating the partnerships and obtaining the funding to create the Muckross Environmental Education and Outdoor Recreation Day Camp• Managed the partnership group in charge of creating the 2015 Muckross Day Camp pilot program• Secured $16,000 in materials, and financial donations through community partnerships, grant-proposals, corporate sponsorships and individual donations • Represented the State Park Service in meetings with local governments, businesses and media organizations • Supervised an eight-person staff consisting of volunteers and full-time employees at the Muckross Day Camp• Created partnerships between the Department of Parks, the Springfield School District, local non-profits and regional businesses including community service opportunities for high school students, an early-childhood reading program with the community library, and a work exchange with the local technical
