Served as a “Sponsored” Loaned Executive during the 2019 United Way of the Plains campaign. Met with business and organization leaders to encourage them to participate in the annual fundraising effort. Served as a liaison between corporate and nonprofit prospects and the United Way.This was a sponsored position only for the duration of the campaign.

EmberHope-Youthville is a 90-year-old ministry established by the United Methodist Church in Kansas. Its specific ministry focus is to improve the lives of at-risk children and families through residential, foster care and clinical service programs. Unfortunately, my position was eliminated when it became clear the United Methodist Church denomination would have to rethink, reorganize and respond to how it would “move forward” with internal issues impacting its ability to financially support EmberHope-Youthville’s mission, which included my position.

The Union Rescue Mission of Wichita is the largest emergency shelter and life-change center for men in the state of Kansas. The Mission's 28,000-square foot facility provides overnight housing and meals for homeless men, hosts a 9-month addiction recovery and Christian discipleship program called New Beginning and distributes free food, diapers and infant formula to families and single mothers in needPartnering with staff, executive and board leadership, played a lead role in the Mission's "Faithfully-Forward" Capital Campaign to raise $3.5 million to construct a new transitional housing facility, upgrade current facilities and launch two new social enterprises (Kitchen Prep and New Leaf Book Mercantile) to create part-time employment opportunities for men in the program and producing support for the Mission's general operating budget.

Served in an advisory role. Actions included providing ideas/advice/suggestions regarding the local nonprofit community. Served as a "sounding board" for philanthropic issues.

The Vice President for Major Gifts reported to the WSU Foundation President & CEO. As one of the leaders of the University’s major gift fund-raising efforts, this position worked to identify, cultivate, solicit and steward prospective and current major gift donors. Primary responsibilities included the supervision of six major gift development directors charged with raising private philanthropic dollars to support Wichita State's colleges of Education, Engineering, Health Professions, Fine Arts, the W. Frank Barton School of Business and the Fairmount College of Liberal Arts & Science.Notable Accomplishments: Played one of the lead roles securing funds to:  Purchase the photographic collection and the private papers of famed African-American photographer Gordon Parks. Complete the $48.3 million “We Are Wichita State” campaign. Raise $22,252,577 annually over a five-year period.

The CDO-VP position reported to the Foundation president and served as one of two senior members of the Foundation staff. In absence of the Foundation president, served in the senior position, being responsible for day-to-day operations of the Foundation. Primary responsibilities included: managing and directing individual, corporate, grant writing and Children’s Miracle Network (CMN) fund-raising efforts. In this position, I supervised four development officers and operations leader, oversaw the Foundation’s budget development process, provided leadership to the CMN Advisory Board, promoted Quality of Work Life initiatives and assisted the Foundation president in the coordination of Via Christi Regional Medical Center’s major gift fund-raising efforts. Notable Accomplishments: Foundation operating revenue increased from $2 million in FY99 to $5.4 million in FY04. Increased CMN state-wide direct patient service program from five to seven Kansas hospitals. Coordinated the development of grant and fund management guidelines to benefit the working relationship between the Foundation and Via Christi Health Advantage organizations.

Secured corporate gifts and directed Children's Miracle Network (CMN) fund-raising initiatives, including an annual telecast and radiothon. Supervised two staff members and, periodically, up to 100+ volunteers. Provided leadership to the CMN Advisory Board.Notable Accomplishments: CMN fund-raising revenue increased from $400,000 in FY99 to a $1 million-a-year program by FY01.  Expanded the CMN Advisory Board to better represent the corporate and health care communities which support CMN.
