While working as the Marketing Coordinator at The Cypress of Raleigh, I have been charged with event planning, connecting people, building relationships, and leading them to our community. I work with people of wealth to gauge and increase their interest in our Continuing Care Retirement Community. I plan and execute strategic marketing plans to increase the awareness and sales of The Cypress using different vehicles including but not limited to social media, direct mail, automated email, and advertising. I also work as the event planner for all marketing events that bring new prospects to The Cypress. Gathering and analyzing data in Excel spreadsheets is used by working directly with the managing partners on ways to increase our sales and market share. Another facet of my position is to successfully plan and execute different ways to increase community awareness of the Cypress. I am successful through networking with the general public as well as current residents, print media, engagement with local nonprofits and public relations firms, and giving guided tours of the community. This enables me to grow awareness and brand in the Raleigh Continuing Care Retirement Community market.

During my time working at the Governor’s office my position included planning and implementing community affairs, programs, and events for the constituents of North Carolina through the Office of the Governor. I collaborated with agencies within the North Carolina government to support citizens of our state. I also helped build a successful NC Governor’s Page Program by supporting and guiding students chosen to participate in this vital program.

My position with White Memorial Presbyterian Church was to handle the day-to-day operations for the middle school and high school youth ministry. I successfully planned, coordinated, and implemented programming as well as youth staff retreats. I compiled information, prepared and distributed the weekly “Enews” to over 300 families. I also managed the daily scheduling of social media posts which enabled the youth department to grow awareness of the many opportunities to the youth and their families. I also recruited and managed volunteers for programs, youth trips, fundraisers, mission opportunities, and various other events.

Bic Corporation was my first employer after I graduated from college. During my years in this job, I learned how the business world operates and many other business life lessons. My job included working with the Corporate Brand Manager to promote and market products in a forecasted and quota-driven sales and marketing environment. I had eight consecutive years with twenty-five percent growth due to the strategic marketing plans I executed. I received the Zone Brand Manager of the Year Award for the fiscal year of 1995.
