I supervise a crew of 12 auditors in a union environment. I train them on new jobs and reinforce proper inspection techniques on existing jobs. I instruct and coordinate all sort and rework activities. Work with management and engineering to identify and address quality issues on new and existing parts.

Initially, I just visually inspected mig welds and performed surface plate layout inspections of "short run" and prototype stamped and machined details, sub-assemblies and welded or riveted assemblies. As other department personnel were hired, I trained all new inspectors and destruct area employees. As I evolved into a leadership role, I created needed procedures, work instructions and all required forms and documentation. I was heavily involved in setting up a new destruct testing area, including area layout purchasing of needed equipment. I also implemented, trained and performed regular push out testing of welded fasteners and macroscopic cross section inspection of mig welds using PAX-IT program. I cross trained all employees on the proper cutting, etching and using the PAX-IT program. I also tracked and performed calibrations on tools, fixtures and instruments. I also created and distributed all Quality Alerts, testing instructions and results. I basically created a Quality Department where there was none when I hired in.

Scheduling, supervision and training of all department employees, across all three shifts, in all areas. (Shipping & Recieving, Fine Blanking, Conventional Stamping, Welding/Assembly and Sort/Rework/Packaging areas.) I worked closely with the Quality Engineer on a daily basis, to resolve/investigate Quality Concerns, complete any needed "pre-launch" tasks or anything else he may need from me. Perform PAX-IT weld inspections and use SATEC Push/Pull Tester and Vision System as needed.
