-Performs a pivotal role as an Intake assistant, overseeing the intake process for all homeless clients referred to the HLPS program and hence ensuring that each client is matched with one of four supportive-housing partner agencies contracted with CBC (Catholic Charities Community Services, The Bridge, Services for the Underserved, and WellLife) and facilitating further connections between said-clients and a menagerie of affordable housing initiatives, thereby contributing to community welfare and stability.-Utilizes strong organizational skills to efficiently manage administrative tasks, including scheduling appointments, maintaining records, and handling correspondence.-Conducts comprehensive assessments of clients' needs and eligibility for housing assistance, ensuring accurate and timely placement in suitable programs.-Implements data analysis techniques and leverages softwares such as Excel to track and evaluate program metrics, enabling informed decision-making and continuous improvement strategies.Collaborates effectively with interdisciplinary partner agencies composed of social workers, housing advocates, and government agencies, to streamline housing-placement processes and thus maximize program impact.-Demonstrates empathy, sensitivity, and cultural competence in interacting with diverse populations, fostering trust and rapport with clients and stakeholders.

-Provided direct, trauma-informed and culturally empathetic services to clients residing at the Pillars Adult and Family Shelter.-Spearheaded the client in-take process, which registered an individual as a resident of the shelter and familiarized them with their new communal-living environment.-Served as the first point of contact for clients, volunteers and other community members. -Assessed the eligibility of potential clients, and provided these individuals with pillars resources, programs and materials that could be of service to them. -Maintained a meticulous electronic record of all families and individuals within the shelter, and further documented the occurrence of significant events.-Coordinated with agency volunteers to ensure that shelter operations were being conducted efficiently.

-Served food to Bon Appetit’s clientele efficiently, handling busy times with effective coordination and proper rationing.-Maintained adequate supplies of items such as clean linens, silverware, glassware, dishes and trays.-Kept the dining area neat and clean in accordance with public health standards.-Maintained an adequate line of communication with the chefs and managers, informing them of any issues that may affect our quality of service.

-Received the Graduate School Exploration Fellowship (GSEF), which funded over 160 fellowships from 2016-2022 and provides undergraduates at ACM colleges with a robust set of mentoring, career development, and experiential research opportunities.-Cultivated my research and writing abilities at various faculty-sponsored events. -Produced graduate school-level writing samples.-Utilized the University of Illinois digital library to engage in meticulous research.-Worked with an advisor to produce a thirty-page historical-archaeological research paper pertaining to the escaped slave communitiesof colonial Brazil.-Presented the findings of my research to colleagues, staff and students at the GSEF Annual Summit.

-Created comprehensive presentations designed to inform high school students about the college transition process and college-levelacademic work.-Assisted students in the completion of a multitude of writing assignments.-Provide college-level writing assistance to students.-Mentored students assigned to various internship sites pertaining to the occupational field of civic engagement.-Assisted students in the creation of a culminating presentation, which discussed their overall experience in the Bronx Civic Scholars Institute and delineated what they’ve learned about civic engagement.

-Ensured that items received from external shippers were counted, weighed and verified against freight bills and purchase orders.-Cooperated with the Manager to ensure that deficiencies found in the items mailed in or out were properly noted.-Performed and resolved various customer service requests, questions, and concerns.-Engaged in the process of metering and processing U.S. Mail to those who ordered from the company.Performed clerical tasks within the mail/scan function.
