As the Validation Program Manager for GM’s autonomous vehicle, I work alongside some of the brightest minds to bring this groundbreaking vehicle to life, from individual components to the vehicle and system level, encompassing both hardware and software.I am responsible for ensuring that all teams have the resources and support they need to safely bring this vehicle to the road. My role involves charting a clear path toward achieving validation completion, ensuring that every vehicle is reliable, safe, and delivers an exceptional experience for every customer on their journey.

I spearheaded the development and continuous improvement of the Validation Planning role, driving significant increases in efficiency and effectiveness across teams. By proactively analyzing program documentation early in the development lifecycle, I ensured a thorough understanding of program attributes, which laid the foundation for successful validation outcomes. I fostered cross-functional collaboration with engineering teams and Joint Ventures (JVs), ensuring comprehensive and accurate planning for validation activities, facilitating smoother execution. Additionally, I led the analysis of program build lists to ensure end-to-end validation coverage, minimizing risks and guaranteeing that all aspects of the program were thoroughly validated.One of my key achievements was successfully reducing dependencies on vehicles by over 50%, implementing innovative strategies and leading teams to meet and exceed challenging organizational goals. I also mentored and coached global team members and JV partnerships, driving key process updates and performance improvement initiatives that led to exceptional results. Maintaining regular communication with project stakeholders, I delivered progress updates and made strategic adjustments to ensure timely project success and alignment with business objectives. In my role, I provided coaching to all North America GM Validation Engineers, guiding them through pre-sourcing to production activities and ensuring seamless execution of validation processes. I developed and implemented strategic validation plans that resulted in cost reductions, improved timelines, and alignment of validation teams around shared organizational goals. Through close collaboration with cross-functional teams, I ensured the successful alignment and execution of GM’s overarching strategy.I maintained regular engagement with senior management, engineering teams, supplier quality, and suppliers to assess performance, identify improvement opportunities, and drive continuous enhancement. By reviewing and providing critical feedback on hardware and software designs, I ensured full alignment with validation requirements. I managed validation requirements for sourcing documentation and design changes, ensuring accuracy and consistency throughout the process. Additionally, I led supplier validation review meetings, driving the resolution of action items and issues to support smooth validation workflows.I proactively partnered with cross-functional teams to elevate awareness of validation needs and played a key role in reviewing and approving testing data across critical areas including Environmental, EMC, Diagnostic, Serial Data, Cybersecurity, and Software. In addition to these responsibilities, I led cost reduction initiatives within infotainment validation and engineered a roof antenna design change that eliminated water leaks and significantly reduced warranty claims. •Tore down and rebuilt a Honda CBR600 F4i engine for use in the vehicle •Timed the engine to ensure proper valve operation•Replaced crankshaft journal bearings to ensure proper oil flow through the engine•Installed new piston rings to ensure the most effective combustion•Performed close inspection of the transmission after disassembly to ensure proper mesh of the gears and the shifting mechanisms •Designed and assisted in the manufacturing a custom air intake restricted to a20mm inlet while ensuring enough air was available for the most efficient combustion•Incorporated the fuel injectors into the runners of the air intake to replace the stock throttle body assembly•Converted the fuel delivery system from four throttle bodies to a single throttle body to control air flow to the engine•Incorporated a custom chain driven differential into the rear end setup while incorporating a chain tensioner into the mounting system•Worked closely with the suspension and chassis teams to ensure clearance of the axlesbetween rear drive components through placement of the differential
