About Terri Bennett
I am a recent graduate with a Master of Arts Degree in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL). I discovered my love for English during my fifteen plus years of working as a Sign Language Interpreter. I have always enjoyed the nuances of languages and facilitating communication. So, I decided to take my passion and transition careers into formal teaching. Currently, I homeschool my two children. However, I enjoy working with adult language learners as well and I miss that. This is one of the reasons my background has included many higher education institutions and community centers. As an interpreter, I often requested to work in ESL classrooms because I understood the content and enjoyed the environment. I thoroughly enjoyed my experience at United Neighborhood Centers of NEPA where I had the opportunity to teach and tutor adult language learners. Most recently, I volunteered through Douglas County Library as an ESL tutor. I find it rewarding to be able to work with adults in learning English and to see them grown personally and professionally.
