Duties, Accomplishments and Related Skills:• Serve as the Program Coordinator for the Homeland Security and Emergency Management (HSEM) Program, responsible for oversight of the program objectives, goals. Additional provided leadership, guidance, and mentorship to two full time and two part time Assistant Professors.• Serve as the senior Academic Advisor to all students enrolled in the HSEM Degree program.• Maintain and keep current expert level of knowledge in the HSEM areas of; Emergency Management Continuity of Operations Planning and development, Emergency Management related capabilities.• Serve as a Subject Matter Expert to the Emergency Management Advisory committee for Savannah State University, responsible for providing guidance and recommendations to the University’s President and Emergency Manager.• Serve as the advisor to the HSEM student organization which provides opportunities for student members to participate in HSEM related community service projects such as participating in emergency preparedness community information expos.Achievements• I led the committee charged with writing the proposal for the Master of Science degree in Homeland Security Emergency Management. • Spearheaded a program to fill a shipping container with books and medical supplies to send to the country of Liberia. As a result of this effort,• Lead the application process for the 2017 Veteran Upward Movement Bound Grant (ED-GRANTS-052217-001).• Lead the application process for the 2017 Intelligence Community Center for Academic Excellence (HHM-402-17-FOA-399).• During my tenure as Program Coordination, increased the number of students enrolled in the HSEM program by 25%. This resulted in the HSEM program maintaining a larger enrollment than the political science department, our parent department.• I oversaw the average increase of program graduates by 15% each semester

As an Assistant Professor I was responsible for teaching at least 4 courses each semester and in most cases an overload of a fifth class. For each course taught, I develop overall course structure, research emergency management and homeland security (HSEM) current information, evaluate student work, and select educational materials (textbooks, supporting handouts, and other supplements), develop a syllabus, and deliver classes in residence and on-line to upper-level HSEM and lower-level political science undergraduate students. • I provided academic advisement for approximately 75 HSEM major students and served as advisor for the HSEM student organization. • I worked with the International Education Center co-chairing the American Council on Education (ACE) sponsored campus internationalization project. Instructor• Served as a SME and Instructor for first responders in areas of incident response, including weapons of mass destruction supporting the National Incident Management System and the National Response Framework.. • Conducted research for curriculum and provided instruction in the areas of Incident Command, Law Enforcement Protective Measure, Technical Emergency Response, and Managing Civil Actions in Threat Incidents.• Participated as lead instructor on Mobile training teams training both law enforcement and fire service responders in the same subjects taught in residence.Team member supporting a U.S. Secret Service mission for President and Mrs. Jimmy Carter at a Habitat for Humanity project in Anniston, Alabama. Curriculum ManagerDuties, Accomplishments and Related Skills:• Responsible for managing a team of writers, editors, and test and evaluation personnel (14 total personnel) involved in the research, development, update and management of all presentation materials and documentation for the courses offered at the CDP. • During my tenure in this position I was the lead on completing DHS approval of presentation materials, textbooks, and the evaluation process for approximately 30 courses designed to assist the nation’s first responders responding to incidents involving weapons of mass destruction.

• Played a key role in the establishment of operations of the Center for Domestic Preparedness a federal training facility, as a member of the plans and operations section. • I played a key role in the development of the training centers emergency management program to include the conducing a hazards and vulnerability assessment in order to develop an Emergency Operations Plan• I was directly involved in the development of the Emergency Operations Center and Mobile Command Center including the development of the operating procedures and their application. • I served for three years as the manager of the Emergency Operations Center, which included its development, revisions, training and developing the emergency operations plan. • Additionally when not responding to the EOC, I served as a member of the Mobile Command Center response team• I was directly involved in the development and execution of all levels of exercises to test the plan with both in-house and external assets.• I also served as the assistant to the programs and personnel manager, involved in the daily operations of the center as well as the coordination of special events such as the visit by Governor Tom Ridge in early 2002.
