Supporting schools, covering classes on a day to day and long term supply basis. I cover classes from Early Year’s Foundation Stage up to and including Key Stage 2, in all subject areas. I take on a fully active role as class teacher fulfilling all expected responsibilities including: assessments, reports, planning, school trips and risk assessments, moderation and inspections in addition to teaching.Ensuring that the safeguarding of children is met and adhered to whilst the children are in my care and the appropriate designated person is notified of any concerns.

I worked for Commonswood School in Welwyn Garden city as a reception teacher for almost two years, I decided not to return after my maternity leave so I could be more flexible for my son. Whilst working at Commonswood I was involved in TAC (team around the child) meetings for pupils in my class. I had the opportunity to develop my phonics teaching further and took a course in synthetic phonics ( Read, Write inc by Ruth Miskin) , I regularly held phonics meetings for parents to give them support as to how to implement and support their children at home. During my time at Commonswood I helped to resource and improve the reception outside classroom.

I have completed an NQT year as Reception class teacher at Peartree Spring Infant school, a role which I thoroughly enjoyed. In my induction year I had opportunities to develop my practise by observing and being observed by experienced teachers. I also worked closely with the EYFS curriculum and profiles. The role also gave me opportunities to teach different year groups which allowed me to see the progression from foundation stage to KS1 and understand how the EYFS and framework built upon children’s knowledge. During my induction year Peartree Spring was inspected by OFSTED which included observations of my foundation class and I was happy to have contributed to the school’s resulting grade of Outstanding. I am extremely proud of my achievements at Peartree and the experience I gained at the school has given me an excellent grounding on which I have built my teaching career further. At the end of my time at Peartree I completed a period of a year and a half of long term supply teaching, giving me skills and experience I needed in my next full time position.
