I am a business educator and Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) adviser completing a 36-year career at Odessa High School. I have found my job very rewarding, and I know I have made a meaningful difference in hundreds of student lives and my community during that time. In addition, I have acquired a great deal of knowledge and some fantastic business skills that I would like to continue to use on a part-time and, most likely, virtual basis. The enclosed resume lists hundreds of awards and accolades earned by myself and my students during my tenure at Odessa. This demonstrates my desire for success, my ability to coach/mentor/advise others, my competitive nature, and the wisdom I have gained from years in the classroom. I am a champion of teaching students the value of hard work and watching it pay off as they win competitive events on the national stage. This is my proudest career accomplishment. Representing Lead4Change and teaching students and other FBLA advisers the power of leadership training at the high school level is one of my most recent endeavors. I have witnessed the power of this program and the results when all students are taught to lead. When I believe in something, I can be a persuasive advocate and would be interested in promoting other worthy educational tools and curricula. I am also very interested in learning and teaching others how to integrate technology to improve education in the classroom. I have taught everything from Lotus 1-2-3 in the 90s to Nearpod and other great apps discovered during Covid. My most unique talent is the ability to organize and share information in a multitude of formats, especially grants and presentations. I am challenged by a great project that requires creative thinking and teamwork.
