As Director of Parks, Lands and Community Engagement with Credit Valley Conservation, Terri is responsible for the overall management, sustainment and strategic development of conservation area operations, property management, land planning and acquisition, trail planning, capital projects, visitor services, recreation, enforcement, community outreach, education programming, stakeholder engagement and Indigenous engagement. As Executive Director of the Credit Valley Conservation Foundation (CVCF) from 2005 - 2021, Terri provided strategic and managerial oversight in support of fundraising goals and operations, including formulating fund development strategies that enhance revenue from major donors, foundations, government agencies, and corporations. Terri previously was Executive Director with the Learning Disabilities Association (Mississauga and Newmarket/Aurora) where she served as a special education advocate and spokesperson, administered education and workplace programs and guided the organizations through two major non-profit amalgamations. Terri has been an active relationship builder, leader and strategist with organizations such as the National Trails Coalition, the Canadian Trails Federation, Hike Ontario and the Ontario Trails Council. In her role with CVC she authored and leads the implementation of the Credit Valley Trail Strategy - a proposed 100 km pathway through the Credit River Valley - from the Hills of the Headwaters in Orangeville to Lake Ontario in Port Credit.The co-author of two publications, Best Practices for Increasing Walking and Hiking on Ontario’s Trails and the Hike Ontario Young Hiker’s Program, Terri was the recipient of the Hike Ontario Volunteer of the Year Award in 2009.Prior to non-profit management, Terri worked as a Provincial Park Warden, Fisheries Officer and as a member of the Emergency Response Team for five years in Ontario’s Provincial Parks (Presqu’ile and Algonquin).
