- Litigate human rights cases as lead or co- counsel in cases filed under the Alien Tort Statute and the Torture Victim Protection Act and civil rights cases under federal law- Coordinate and collaborate with lawyers filing cases around the world on behalf of Chinese dissidents including Falun Gong- Coordinate Asylum Project for dissidents especially for the litigating of difficult cases at the Immigration Court, Board of Immigration Appeal and Circuit Court levels; - Manage HRLF’s Fellowship Program via the direct supervision of recent law graduates from Yale Law School, Harvard Law School, NYU and Georgetown Law Center. Train fellows in human rights litigation and assist them in the drafting of articles for publication; - Assist in the rescue of dissidents at risk of torture from China; - Support the Democracy in China movement outreach by collaborating with Chinese lawyers, Human Rights Watch, Human Rights Defenders and China Initiatives to further the peaceful transition to a democracy in China.
