I developed my company Elemental Health over 25 years ago with an emphasis is on helping people reverse and prevent degenerative diseases. I apply functional medicine principles to correct root causes of disease and pain. There is a lot of information in nutrition literature and some of it is seemingly confusing and contradictory. I am continuously researching new theories and discoveries to help you discern if and how they should be applied.I am able to combine my medical and nutritional knowledge while using health coaching strategies to develop an individualized program to suit your specific needs.

I received my training from the Institute for Integrative Nutrition, where I was trained in more than one hundred dietary theories and studied a variety of practical lifestyle coaching methods.My company is called Elemental Health because I believe in the basics and keeping it simple. I study traditional diets from around the world and paid attention to what our grandmothers were cooking before food became so processed. I want to empower you with an ability to choose whole foods that are simple to prepare and healing for your body.I believe that the basics also include your closest relationships, your work/play balance and your connection to a higher power. I have a gentle and non-judgmental approach to help you explore any of these areas of your life that are important to you. I teach a six month series called "Food is Medicine RVA" so that the power of group support can facilitate success. I have over 30 years of experience of working in inpatient rehab, home health, pediatrics and neonatology. My primary focus for the past 10 years has been primarily in acute care. My medical background helps to support my health coaching practice so I can help my clients better understand their conditions.

My role was as East Coast Director where I provided training to physicians and other health care practitioners using our neurofeedback system. It is an intervention that provides immediate feedback from a computer-based program that assesses a client’s brainwave activity. The process helps clients to regulate brain function and hopefully alleviate symptoms of various neurological disorders and mental health conditions. My responsibilities included marketing, proposals, trade shows, project management and assisting with brain mapping.
