In Jan. 2010, Benefits Communication merged with Global Associate Communications• Managed several communications projects for Human Resources including Children’s Miracle Network campaign, Associate Opinion Survey, Management Incentive Plan and COAP (realigning pay structure to job responsibility)• Partnered with Benefits team to deliver a robust 2011 Annual Enrollment campaign including: * Communication strategy – key member of the decision making team that planned the communication strategy for annual enrollment in a year of significant medical and retirement plan changes. * Developed educational and training material – utilizing the talents of a small team, we conducted focus group meetings, developed content and flow of online enrollment screens, multiple versions of enrollment guides for different audiences and online tools and resources * Vendor management – working closely with the vendor, coordinated print and distribution of enrollment kits for 1.2 million associates * Project management – working closely with all areas of the Benefits team, managed creation and delivery of a 240 page Associate Benefits Book. Lead meetings with subject matter experts and legal teams, writing, managing design and worked with compliance and legal teams to provide electronic notification which saved over $1 million in print costs. * Intranet benefits site – worked closely with Walmart’s intranet team to develope an “Associate Benefits Toolkit”, a one-stop-shop for all benefits information. * Developed additional communications – became the ‘go to’ person for the Benefits team, creating and writing a multitude of ancillary benefits communications pieces including Annual Executive Physical Program, HSA Welcome Kit, COBRA communications, Associate Discount Card mailer and more.• Worked with the print vendor by challenging print costs and ordering paper early, we significantly reduced the total print cost of the Annual Enrollment campaign.

Benefits Communication was challenged with how to better educate officers regarding their benefits. • After meetings, research and conducting an online survey of officers, developed a one-on-one officer support program which aligned each officer with a benefits ‘expert’ to be their day-to-day contact for any benefits related questions.• Organized and conducted the first Officer and Executive Assistant Annual Enrollment Training Session. We received positive feedback and increased participation in officer programs the following year.
