Retired Director of Curriculum Management, responsible for the development and implementation of the Curriculum Inventory, a national curriculum benchmarking tool that will replace CurrMIT (Curriculum Management Information Tool), part of the Medical Academic Performance Services (MEDAPS) suite. Coordinated the CurrMIT-LCME Project for the Association of American Medical Colleges (AAMC) from 2006 to 2010. Director of Educational Technology until retirement from Southern Illinois University School of Medicine in 2005. 30 years at SIU, with experience in educational technology and curriculum development, with a diverse set of responsibilities that included clerkship coordination, residency program coordination, Continuing Medical Education coordination, computer education and support, and oversight of educational space, technology, and resources for the undergraduate medical curriculum. Trained as a tutor and master tutor for the Problem-Based Learning Initiative at SIU and worked with that group to develop distributed learning resources for use in problem-based and small group learning at institutions around the world. Member-at-large for the Association of American Medical Colleges (AAMC) Central Group on Educational Affairs (CGEA) Executive Committee and past convener and member of the GEA and CGEA Computers in Medical Education Special Interest Group. In 2006, received the CGEA Golden Laureate Award for contributions to medical education.Community interests include historic preservation, neighborhood preservation, and history, particularly related to the Civil War. Numerous presentations on these topics to Springfield community and professional groups.
