I am a business owner/Realtor who was harmed by a medical device and was not given proper informed consent. My experience led to a passion for medical device safety advocacy. I am a founding member of GPAC, Global Patient Advocacy Coalition focusing on legislative efforts statewide as well as worldwide. I am one of the facilitators of BIHS, Breast Implant Health Summit as well as a founding member of BISA, Breast Implant Safety Alliance. I am the administrator & founder of the Breast Implant Illness Florida Support group where our membership is now over 5,000 members. I have testified multiple times at the FDA in support of patient safety and proper informed consent. We work directly with leadership at ASPS, Plasty-Pac, industry, and medical societies which have led to progress in finding solutions for increasing awareness and patient safety.Accomplishments: GPAC, Plasty-Pac, and ASPS collaborate on a breast implant informed consent checklist.BIHS is the first summit on breast implant health and healing.
