Responsible for the implementation of the Alabama Faith-based & Community Initiative, oversight and supervision of the Alabama AmeriCorps, Citizen Corps and Homelessness programs and initiatives. Responsible for managing over 35 federally funded sub-grantees and a direct staff of 13. Tasked with oversight and management of a $4.5 million dollar budget. Major Accomplishments – Established the first Office of Faith-Based & Community Initiatives for the State of Alabama that was pointed to as a model for the rest of the nation by the White House & replicated by Governors of other States.  Established the first AL Statewide Inter-agency Council on Homelessness & served as its Chair Established and served as Vice Chair of the AL Citizen Corps Council Appointed by the Governor as a member of the AL Homeland Security Task Force. Established and served as Chair of the AL Faith-Based Substance Abuse Task Force,  Re-established the AL Women’s Commission and served as its Chair Successfully managed the constituent relations & donations management for the Hurricane Katrina response for the AL Governor’s office by serving as Volunteer and Donations Coordinator during Hurricane Katrina. Designated entity to coordinate Volunteers and Donations for the State through the Alabama EMA.
