I identify talking point topics, craft statements and, working closely with his PR team, ensure John’s voice is part of key public conversations.A signatory of the Bill and Melinda Gates' Giving Pledge, John has committed to donating at least 70% of his wealth to charitable causes during and after his lifetime. Having started as a part-time editor, I co-founded the company which acquired the fledgling domain www.whatsonstage.com and built it up into the UK’s leading theatre website. I was the driving editorial force and main spokesperson for the company. I launched the WhatsOnStage Theatre Club and WhatsOnStage Magazine, which I also edited, and founded, executive produced and hosted the annual audience-voted WhatsOnStage Awards.

I have published two books: Beware the Dwarfs (Little Brown) and Come Clean (HarperCollins).

I conceived the idea and name for this company, which I co-founded with David Dobson. Initially launched as a website, www.unmissable.com, evangelising and selling "unmissable" experiences and holidays, it evolved into a successful sales promotion and incentives supplier.

I contributed interviews and other features to publications including the Evening Standard, Independent, Daily Express and The Times.

I worked on various high-tech public relations accounts, including Novell and Autonomy. After leaving the company to pursue my writing goals, I continued to freelance for Firefly, specialising in analyising and producing headline-grabbing Big Data and social technology trends reports.

I oversaw the start-up and day-to-day running of the Microsoft South Africa PR account. Highlights included directing a team of ten to launch Windows 95, one of the biggest consumer events in South African history.

I planned and ran public relations campaigns for major high-tech companies, mainly Microsoft, and eventually headed up the Microsoft Office applications PR team.

I launched the quarterly Management Training magazine and deputised on the bi-monthly IT Training.

I worked in the book department of London's flagship store, including assisting in event management for frequent authors' book signings.
