One in five people experiences a mental health or addiction problem. It can be hard for people to reach out and seek help. For people that do, medication is often prescribed. A person's "medication experience" is all the events in a person's lifetime that involve medication and is deeply personal. This experience shapes their attitude, beliefs, and preferences about medication. Many people don't want to take medication and feel trapped.Medication doesn't have to be as scary as it sounds. I have seen numerous people get better with the right medication for their diagnosis. In addition, with the right route, dose, frequency, and education about the medication and side effect management, people can thrive and get back to living their lives. I want to help more patients make the best out of the medications out there.I have 15 years experience in the mental health and addictions field working at a hospital.
