I am currently the Environmental Group Manager and Lead Environmental Scientist at Patel, Greene and Associates with a diverse background in wetlands ecology, biology, and environmental permitting. My responsibilities include conducting threatened and endangered species assessments; conducting formal and informal ESA Section 7 and Section 10 consultations with the US Fish and Wildlife Service; conducting wetland assessments using the Florida Uniform Mitigation Assessment Methodology (Chapter 62-345, F.A.C.) and the Wetland Rapid Assessment Procedure (WRAP); conducting formal wetland delineations pursuant to Chapter 62-340, F.A.C. and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Regional Supplement to the Corps of Engineers Wetland Delineation Manual: Atlantic and Coastal Plains Region; conducting Essential Fish Habitat assessments and coordination with NOAA NMFS in accordance with the Magnuson-Stevens Act; drafting biological reports and/or associated sections of Categorical Exclusions, Environmental Assessments, Environmental Impact Statements in accordance with the National Environmental Policy Act; and local, state, and federal environmental permitting in accordance with Chapter 62-343, FAC and Section 404 of the Clean Water Act. My previous 19 years of experience as an environmental consultant and a public sector employee has given me extensive knowledge of Florida rules and statutes regarding wetlands and submerged resources, as well as federal regulations including the National Environmental Policy Act, Clean Water Act, Migratory Bird Treaty Act, Bald and Golden Eagle Protection Act, Endangered Species Act, Magnuson-Stevens Fishery Conservation and Management Act, and Marine Mammal Protection Act.

As an Environmental Specialist III with FDEP for six years, I performed both staff supervisory duties and technical assignments. My responsibilities included supervising a team of three environmental scientists, processing applications for Environmental Resource Permits in accordance with Chapter 62-343, FAC, performing formal wetland delineations in accordance with Chapter 62-340, FAC, conducting environmental assessments of dredge and fill activities and sovereign lands issues to determine compliance with Department permits and/or rules and statutes, and investigating potential violations of statutes and/or rules and initiated compliance/enforcement action as necessary.

As an Environmental Specialist with FDOT, I conducted technical assignments relating to potential environmental impacts resulting transportation improvement projects. My responsibilities included conducting Essential Fish Habitat Assessment in accordance with the Magnuson-Stevens Act, assisting with wetland delineations in accordance with Chapter 62-340, FAC, assisted with gopher tortoise surveys, conducting traffic noise assessments, preparing Level 1 Contamination Assessments, and supervising the District Contamination and Remediation (CAR) Contractor with an annual budget of $300,000. I also volunteered as a member of the State Disaster Assessment Team (DAT).
