I provided strategic advice to senior management and their business teams and protected, managed, enforced and defended the company’s trademarks, copyrights, domain names, and related intellectual property assets around the world. I was responsible for several key Consumer Healthcare brand portfolios, including well-known global brands such as Sensodyne/ProNamel, Parodontax, Polident/Poligrip, Aquafresh, Voltaren, Excedrin, Panadol, Flonase, Theraflu, TUMS, Eno, Gaviscon, Prevacid, Physiogel, Abreva, Nicorette, and NicoDerm. I directly managed a portfolio of approximately 26,600 trademark rights globally. I also had primary responsibility for all the Consumer Healthcare brands, various Vaccines brands, and GSK's corporate marks in the U.S.In addition I advised on the IP aspects of numerous acquisitions, divestments and other business development transactions, and managed IP portfolio integrations, including the formation of the GSK/Novartis joint venture and integration of the Novartis brands, and the negotiation of the subsequent joint venture with Pfizer. I also mannaged litigation matters, oppositions, and other conflicts globally, provided legal counsel on various digital projects and ecommerce initiatives in the U.S., China and Europe, and coordinated the company's anti-counterfeiting efforts in the U.S. and other jurisdictions. One of my most interesting matters was working with the FDA's Office of Criminal Investigation and the U.S. Attorney's Office in Denver to identify, apprehend and prosecute a Chinese counterfeiter. Another was successfully litigating and resoiving a long-running trademark and copyright case in Nigeria.

I represented clients in a broad range of industries on a wide variety of trademark, copyright, patent, right of publicity, domain name, software and technology licensing, trade secret and other IP matters. I also prosecuted, defended and settled trademark oppositions and cancellations, trademark and copyright civil cases, and domain name disputes. Two of my favorite clients were Apple Inc. and The Ivy League.
