Terry E. (Everett) Cheyney is the President & CEO of TEC Financial, LLC (“TEC”), a consulting firm whose clients are primarily private funds registered as investment advisers with the U.S. Securities & Exchange Commission. TEC provides clients with Fund Finance and Outsourced CFO Services, & consulting services for SEC, NFA & CFTC compliance matters (Outsourced CCO Services).Ms. Cheyney has more than 23 years of Finance & Accounting experience, of which 16 years are specific to Private Equity Fund Finance, as well as SEC, NFA & CFTC Compliance. Prior to founding TEC, Ms. Cheyney was the CFO & Chief Compliance Officer of Rockland Capital, LLC (2010-2019), a $1.0 billion AUM Houston-based fund manager where she led a team of 8 finance & compliance professionals.Prior to Rockland, Ms. Cheyney served as the VP of Finance for Perseus, L.L.C., a Washington D.C. based merchant bank and PE fund manager with $1.6 billion across seven funds, as well as four and a half years with The Carlyle Group. Prior to joining Carlyle, Ms. Cheyney spent several years in the Corporate Financial Reporting dept for Salt River Project (“SRP”), the nation’s 3rd largest public power utility with more than $7.4 billion in power generation assets. Ms. Cheyney was also previously a Senior Analyst with Arthur Andersen, LLP.Ms. Cheyney speaks regularly at national private equity industry conferences on a variety of topics including compliance issues, financial and operational matters for ria’s. She is a Founding Member of the Board of Directors of the Houston, Texas Chapter of the Private Equity CFO Association. In addition, from 2013-2015 Ms. Cheyney served on the Networking Committee for Houston’s Chapter of Texas Wall Street Women. She has served as a member of the Houston Symphony's Board of Trustees since 2017 and is on its Finance Committee. Ms. Cheyney was elected to the Symphony’s Governing Board in 2019 where she continues to serve in fiscal year 2020.
