Hi: I have been involved in Safety and Training for twenty-two years, starting in the training department of the Denison Potash Mine in Sussex, New Brunswick after working underground as an operator and supervisor. I was involved in the development and implementation of the Safety and Training program at that time, instructing workers on all types of mining equipment, machinery operation and safety. When the mine closed down in 1997, I was given the opportunity to enter the construction industry as a field safety officer, on the King of Cats project at Irving Oil in Saint John N.B. Working for Walter /FCC Joint Venture General Contractor, I learned the basics. From there I went with Lockerby & Hole and managed the safety program there for 500 electricians with the assistance of three field officers. I have worked projects for Babcock and Wilcox in Sarnia, Ontario, and Flour in Dartmouth Nova Scotia. I also worked with Lancor General Contractors from Moncton developing their safety program. I worked for Master Mechanical Contractors Inc. Saint John N.B. After developing and implementing their safety program I went to work for Cementation on the Piccadilly Mine Project outside of Sussex NB for a period of one year.
