Consultancy for selection of third party products. Developed strategy for quantifying predictable technical / commercial delivery of new network equipment integration.C&W – Lead solution architect with Nortel and Digital/Compaq to deliver the customer impact and assurance solution for the Network 2000 SDH/DWDM transmission network.BT – Solution architect for the delivery of an ATM and xDSL fulfillment system.

Range of consultancy, development and management assignments. These included;Energis – Delivery of ICT assurance tools covering solution and product requirements, architecture, development, verification and operational deployment.Volt Delta – Interim development manager for the team developing Volt’s CTI based Operator Services system. Part of the bid team which won the contract to supply the system for a large scale deployment (over 800 seats) to the Dutch PTT. Highways Agency – Due diligence and vendor S/W quality audits for motorway communication and control systems. Evaluation and specification of solution architectures. British Rail Telecom – Audit and recommendations for passenger information system.INMARSAT – Consultant to the Aeronautical Development Department to develop a test strategy for a satellite-based air to ground communication system. Led the subsequent bid to win the contract to develop the associated communications monitoring system, with myself managing the delivery project.TCC (SWEDISH TELECOM subsidiary) – Software project manager for the development of a resilient operational communications and control system for the emergency services. Responsible to the technical director for the development of the software system which addressed switching, radio and fixed wire I/Fs, inter-systems networking and operator workstations. At peak the S/W team rose to around 50 staff and the project generated more than £4.5M revenue for IPL.

Worked on the development of H/W and S/W for a number of electronic systems deployed at the centre. These included • Radiotherapy prescription generation and treatment machine monitoring system.• Medical instrumentation, data acquisition and analysis system. • Communications protocol converter. • Apple II VT52 terminal emulator.

Worked on the design of SONAR electronic systems using both digital and analog technology. Development addressed pre-amplification, digital signal processing, filtering and beam-forming applications.
