ADPAC responsible for the collection, assessment, design, integration, modification, maintenance, and analysis of data, data management services, networking and computerized medical records for the Tennessee Valley Healthcare System Pharmacy Service in support of Pharmacy Service managerial decision making processes. *Serve as a Pharmacy Informatics consultant in the Department of Veterans Affairs transition to a new Electronic Medical Record.*Coordinate the development and implementation of all pertinent information applications to support clinical practice, administration, educational development, and research initiatives.*Personify the mission, vision, and goals of TVHS and Veterans Integrated Service Network (VISN) 9 by anticipating and meeting the pharmaceutical needs of internal and external customers. *Exercise a high level of autonomy on a day-to-day basis. *Inform and advise the Chief of Pharmacy by developing, supplying, and interpreting comprehensive computer-generated data on a regular basis in evaluating pharmacy operations and reviewing the efficiency and effectiveness of service and program activities. *Serve as the "resident expert" in all VistA pharmacy programs, VistA service-integrated programs, the graphical user interface (GUI) employed by VHA, VA FileMan, Computerized Patient Record System (CPRS), Bar Code Medication Administration (BCMA), and ProClarity. *Install, troubleshoot, and otherwise maintain Drug Accountability software and the Controlled Substances Package. *Conduct Controlled Substance Package reconciliation and complete prescription deletions necessary to maintain accurate patient prescription profiles. *Guide and direct in-depth audits as appropriate to maintain compliance with Federal regulating bodies and preserve patient safety initiatives. *Collaborate with Clinical Pharmacy staff in managing the pharmaceutical consult service at TVHS.
