My focus has changed, and I will be honest, I want to see every type of marine species I can, now I'm not so sure if I will be able to...Through being a Dive Instructor, I have shared my experience with other people wanting to dive but at the same time felt sad...Divers will know this. How many times have you been underwater and seen what you wanted to see but in small numbers?Believe it or not, I feel we are at a tipping point. There are many concerns with the marine environment and the ocean at present. Plastics is what’s concerning the general public, with overfishing and sustainable fish stocks, which has governments and the UN concerned. And the issue of ocean acidity is happening but not well known or publicised. We should be concerned about all of these.Pelagic Dive Travel was created around the core value - the marine world - the preservation, sustainability and the education for it. We have since expanded this focus to really support, promote & help create exposure for marine organisations & initiatives. If we can help bring supporters to them in a sustainable way this will ultimately help that organisation, initiative & community grow which in turn means their work continues.With sustainable travel (using the UNSDG14) to see these organisations & initiatives, hopefully, we will bring awareness to the abundance or lack of, the species, in the hope to preserve or increase their numbers.
