Senior Manufacturing Engineer
Current• Senior Manufacturing Engineer responsible for defining, developing, implementing, & optimizing machining processes of complex rocket engine components with a focus on vertical takeoff and vertical landing vehicles for sub-orbital and orbital spaceflight.• Work closely with design engineers, CNC programmers, and tooling engineers to develop machining processes for complex, tight tolerance, exotic material, rocket engine components including thrust chambers, injectors, turbo pumps, bearing supports, bearing housings, etc…• Lead DFMA and PFMEA studies to strengthen the feedback loop between design and fabrication.• Mentoring of Junior Level manufacturing engineers on aerospace machining development.• Develop manufacturing work instructions to clearly define machining, inspection, and rework processes.• Maintain BOM structures and work order creation/management using custom Blue Origin software.• Perform engineering drawing reviews and provide final approvals for manufacturing.• Utilize lean manufacturing methodology for process development and problem solving.• Utilize Creo 6.0 to develop fixture, tooling, gage, & process prints.• Perform root cause analysis when non-conformances and quality escapes are identified and implement corrective actions.
