HeForShe is a global, solidarity movement for the advancement of Gender Equality created by UN Women. It focuses on the idea that gender inequality is an issue that affects all people and it seeks to encourage all genders, particularly men, to help achieve gender equality through ally-ship. this is achieved by educating, empowering and taking action against negative stereotypes & behaviours. Responsibilities include Act as an ambassador for gender equality in the MPS.Being a conduit between the network of allies and management board.Develop, coordinate and deliver equality products across all MPS Commands.Improve conditions around cultures of sexism & misogyny and orher discrimination, health issues and work life balance for families. This seeks to improve recruitment & retention, particularly for minority groups. To facilitate significant internal engagement with senior stakeholders as well as leaders in other forces and partner organisations.To support & challenge the wider organisation on the respective areas of interest.This role has required me to work autonomously and self-motivate. I have rapidly learnt new skills to be effective in my current role and have a strong ability to develop & maintain effective working relationships at all levels. I work confidently and on my own initiative and proven my leadership and motivational skills.I have become a subject matter expert in gender equality and as such advise colleagues in various parts of the organisation. Strong written & analytical skills are complimented by excellent word, excel & PowerPoint capability allowing me to produce briefing notes, impact assessments & presentations to deliver to senior colleagues as well as other internal & external stakeholders. This requires an ability to communicate confidently to different audiences. I am able to operate within clear rules of confidentiality, which has been necessary throughout my career, particularly when being part of the response to recent high profile reports and criticism which have highlighted past failings.I have a passion for culture, diversity & inclusion and to ensure the MPS is a place where all people want to work and stay.
