CurrentHeForShe is a global, solidarity movement for the advancement of Gender Equality from the UN. It focuses on the idea that gender inequality is an issue that affects all people and it seeks to encourage all genders, particularly men, to help achieve gender equality by taking action against negative stereotypes & behaviours. Responsibilities include Act as an ambassador for gender equality in the MPS.Develop & co-ordinate gender equality initiatives across all MPS Commands.Improve conditions particularly around culture of sexism & misogyny, health issues and work life balance for families, all which improves recruitment & retention, particularly for female colleagues. To facilitate significant internal engagement with senior stakeholders as well as leaders in other forces and partner organisations.To create and deliver products to enhance and improve gender equality in the MPS.To support & challenge the wider organisation on the respective areas of interest.This role has required me to work autonomously and self-motivate. I have rapidly learnt new skills to be effective in my current role and have a strong ability to develop & maintain effective working relationships at all levels. I work confidently and on my own initiative and proven my leadership and motivational skills.I have become a subject matter expert in gender equality and as such advise colleagues in various parts of the organisation. Strong written & analytical skills are complimented by excellent word, excel & PowerPoint capability allowing me to produce briefing notes, impact assessments & presentations to senior offices as well as other internal & external stakeholders. This has required an ability to communicate confidently to different audiences. I am able to operate within clear rules of confidentiality, which has been necessary throughout my career, particularly when being part of the response to recent high profile reports and criticism which have highlighted past failings.
