Terry Moritz is an experienced attorney who specializes in resolving complex disputes as a mediator and an arbitrator.He has arbitrated over 100 commercial matters over the last 15 years. His dispute resolution work draws on his extensive experience as an advocate in a wide variety of complex commercial disputes in court and in ADR settings. He has extensive energy experience, including resolving renewables and alternative Energy disputes.His energy experience includes substantial activity in the alternative energy field Including siting and construction of wind farms; power takeoff contract issues ; warranty and damage claims involving alternative energy facilities. Disputes concerning battery storage and the generation of stored energy. He is knowledgeable of the impact of climate change legislation on the energy industry. In addition,he has arbitrated M&A disputes involving forced buy-outs and commission/finder’s fee matters; Joint venture Agreements; Health Care Payor /Provider disputes ; Securities Fraud disputes arising out of Limited Liability Company Investments; Franchise disputes raising Breach of Agreement, Confidentiality and Trademark issues; Trade Secrets issues; Real Estate Development disputes including Wind Farm development matters; Damage Claims to Industrial Equipment; Breach of Fiduciary Obligations; and Long Term Supply agreement disputes. Mr. Moritz is a member of the American Arbitration Association and on the commercial, energy and joint venture panels; a member of the energy and commercial panels of the International Institute for Conflict Resolution and Prevention (CPR); certified by the ADR Committee of the Midwest Independent Systems Operator (MISO) as a mediator and arbitrator; a charter member of the National Academy of Distinguished Neutrals; he has been an Adjunct Professor of Law at Loyola University School of Law; a sustaining member of the American Law Institute; a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators and serves as chair of its Chicago Chapter; a board member and panelist for the Forum for International Conciliation & Arbitration ("FICA") and a Associate Editor of the Legal Issues Journal.
